If you’re a freelancer or small business in Portsmouth, tired of working from home or looking to get an office space, you might want to check out Port 57. One of our official sponsors for PubHack #4, Port 57 is a co-working studio on Albert Road, the creative heart of Portsmouth!
What is a co-working studio?
It’s essentially an office or studio where you can rent a desk (or multiple desks), where other likeminded people work too. They tend to be open plan, so you share the space with other people, which is great for sharing ideas, work and skills.
What can I expect from Port 57?
At the moment there are 9 residents, ranging from web designers, app developers, film makers, writers and architects (as well as the PubHack team). We have music on during the day (we tend to take it in turns to ‘DJ’), a sofa area with musical instruments to chill out with, a large meeting room, and if you want to relax, the lovely fish tank!
Some evenings we head out for an après-work beer at one of the local pubs on Albert Road, and there’ll often be a social on the Friday night too.
There’s the chance for collaboration and sharing work, as often projects come in to one of us that require a different skill set.
How much is it?
It’s £200 a month, which is all inclusive of business rates, meeting room, internet, tea and coffee. It’s great value when you consider the cost of a singular office space.
Visit Port 57 at their Open day!
On Saturday 4th of July, you’re invited to come and visit Port 57 for their open day. If you’d like to come take a look, just get in contact with Karl March who runs the studio, to either book an appointment or express interest in the open day!
