Rusty Prop Brewery: Beer Done Properly

Yesterday we took a visit to our sponsors – Rusty Prop Brewery, to find out more about this brand new local micro brewery that started last year.

Si from Rusty Prop

We met with Si (above), who is one part of the beer making duo (also run by Steve), who started Rusty Prop last year. They started by homebrewing, and now have a unit in Romsey where they brew a couple of kegs a week for beer festivals and local pubs. The pair both work in aviation, and so inspired their branding and beer names. What is clear from spending some time at the brewery, is that the guys are truly passionate about beer making, as well as supporting the local community.

Flugtag

We also got to have a taste of their first brew – Flugtag, which is a delicious, slightly carbonated, biscuity caramel flavoured pale ale / lager. We can’t wait to share this one with fellow PubHackers!

We also got to have a taste of their prototype IPA ‘Grass Strip’, which is a lovely rich tasting (and strong!) ale.

If you want to find out more about these guys and where you can find their delicious brews on tap (or bottled), take a look on their website.
